I have been pretty burnt out recently with 3D Modelling and whilst I was finishing my PGCE, I lost all passion for 3D due to multiple personal reasons (I even lost passion playing video games too). I believe the reason because of this burn out was to do with my life revolving around being a teacher but all the work that comes with the PGCE too especially the full time course (a lot of stuff crammed and packed into short time...) I still to this day will never know why they just don't make the full time course 2 years. Hey ho, I passed and had the urge to make something simple.
I have been playing a lot of Pokémon Go and going through some of the old games since I never really played them as a kid, oh boy have I missed out. Therefore, this is the reason why I wanted to make a Poké Ball. I also needed something to get me back into Blender whilst getting used to a keyboard that has no numpad as I have got one of those 60% keyboards to save space on my desk. I looked at a YouTube tutorial as I will always credit where credit is due but adjusted the model to look how I felt like it should (using different values for the subdivs, smoothing, bevelling, lighting... etc). The YouTube tutorial can be found here if anyone wants to create their own Poké Ball. The tutorial also is great to set up a good scene to render for the objects as well for future projects.
I am also going to be implementing this Poké Ball into The Sims 4 as a custom decorative item as I am a big fan of the game and think it would be cool to see some of my own assets imported into the game. There are plenty of tutorials that will help gain an understanding if anyone wanted to have a look into it also using The Sims 4 Studio application (third party).
Thank you for reading my message, I hope you like the model and the reasoning to why there has been a lack of uploads on my portfolio for a hot minute.
